Introduction and Learning Objectives
This video is a demonstration how prepare baked catfish with red potatoes and onions. This is a step by step presentation. It both verbally instructs as well as displays the steps on the frames. The essence is to show how easy it is to make a delicious meat and potatoes dinner without any skills required.
Licensing
The Catfish is sold at Kroeger Grocery store in the frozen fish section. The Red potatoes and onions are a Pictsweet Farms product sold in the frozen vegetable section. I seasoned the fish with OLD BAY SEASONING for seafood, poultry, salads, and Meats. I also used ADAMS ‘The Great Steak of Texas’ Seasoning on the catfish.
The background music is Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” licensed by Warner Brothers.
Video editing software is Adobe’s Premier Pro. The Voiceover was done using Adobe Audition. I used Adobe Encoder to export the finished project to MP4.
The opening photo of the Golden Gate Bridge is simply a photo I downloaded from the internet. Although tempting to use NY with a Sinatra song, I chose San Francisco because I’m from Northern California.
Storyboard or Planning
I planned to make a very simple ‘meat and potatoes’ dinner to keep the length short. The filming was done on my Android Galaxy A10e Cell Phone. I filmed it with several short shots, not a continuous feed, and which I spliced together using Adobe Premier Pro. I attempted different angles and zooms for more complexity.
The Frank Sinatra music is on a CD my brother made for me so I added it to the project with a fade at the end.
I planned to do the voiceover with Adobe Premier Pro. However, when I actually recorded it there was an echo I couldn’t seem to filter out, so I rerecorded it by writing a script and reading it while recording with Adobe Audition. When I added the voiceover to the film it was too short so I used the razor to slice it into pieces and spread it out over the duration of the film.
