Launching an Amazon Web Services Instance is EASY!
Introduction and Learning Objectives
The purpose of this page is to educate users how to get started using Amazon Web Services. This is a step by step process illustrating how simple launching an AWS instance is.
How this media works together towards the Learning Objectives
The video has images that introduce the viewer to the subject: launching an AWS Instance. The software I used to record the steps to launch an AWS Instance literally demonstrate how to do it. I recorded audio explaining each step along with subtext on many of the slides. There is upbeat background music to make it feel quick, easy, and fun!
Why Cloud Computing?
Computing in the cloud is cheaper than purchasing physical servers. Along with saving money on infrastructure, the cost of maintenance is reduced. Support of the physical servers is done by the Cloud Service Provider. You don’t ever have to worry about your equipment getting old or outdated. The security in the cloud is equal to the security you get in your own IT’s data center because all the same practices you implement on prim can be applied in the cloud.
What is Amazon Web Services?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally. AWS for beginners offers database storage options, computing power, content delivery, and networking among other functionalities to help organizations scale up. It allows you to select your desired solutions while you pay for exactly the services you consume only.

Techniques Used for this project.
I used screen recording software called Active Presenter to record and do the initial edits of the video. I exported it to a .mp4 file and did the remainder of edits using Adobe Premier Pro. In Adobe Premier Pro I created audio and video transitions. I added credits as well as an overlay of the falling orbs in the very first slide of the video. Inside Premier Pro I also adjusted the audio using transitions and recorded a voice-over for the audio.
I downloaded free music from Auditionaudi.com. The music is performed by Jason Snow. The background song is called Code Blue.
I posted an audio clip explaining how to create your AWS account. I recorded it using Adobe Audition with a multi-track format. The background music is also by Jason Snow and freely available at his website: Aditionaudi.com. It includes fades.
I downloaded AWS logos and used a magic wand to merge it into a layer of another photo from the internet, the clouds, to form the second slide which serves and an introductory paragraph before I begin rolling the video of the screen recorder.
